Another P38 HVAC problem....
So taking a 25 mile trip today the A/C was running perfectly nice and ice cold. Made my 2-3 hour stop and when I start the car to head home the book symbol comes up and the a/c is blowing very hot air on the drivers side and cold to cool air on the passenger side. Thats all it would do! I shut my vents and opened the windows but it was unplesant! What do you all think? This is my 02 Range Rover.

So it did not work this morning on my way to work. Same exact problem. Left work after 9 hours and it worked perfectly on the way home no issues, no book symbol ice cold.... So if this happens again and i turn the temp down to low and it sill does not work I can assume it is the blend motors? I am in no way a mechanic but I like to know what the problem is before having someone fix it. I could probably fix a sensor so lets hope thats what it is.... Thanks for your help guys!

If you set the temps to LO and nothing happens, then there is most likely a problem with the blend motors. If the system is only malfunctioning when in "AUTO" then its a sensor problem as previously stated. Change the temps from HI to LO with the fan off or at the lowest setting, and listen for the blend motors. They should make little mechanical noises but if you hear grinding, then you know for sure that is the issue.
