Is the front clip on the range rover mid 90's aluminum like the d1?

 

Yes, the hood and fenders are... well actually they're Aluminium. The inner fenders and radiator/headlight support is steel, just like a Discovery. They're also interchangeable. You can bolt the Range Rover front end onto a Discovery and vice versa. Seen it done, but haven't done it, imagine it's just a simple hand tool job.
