Can't Pass Inspection
I have a 2005 RR HSE and it will not pass inspection. Just had over 3k of work completed on it thank god for extended warranty. The readiness codes will not come on for the catalytic converter and the oxygen sensor. I have done key cycles and myself and dealer have done 100 mi without sucess. i have had nothing but problems with this vehicle since purchasing it eight months ago. So much so that the off lease dealership that I purchased it from is now willing to put me into something else comprable because of the cost to them. Despite the problems I really love the truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems to me that the problem is not yours but the Land Rover dealer's. If it is under warranty, they should fix it. You shouldn't have to do anything but drop it off to them or call them to pick it up. That's the nice thing about buying a vehicle with a warranty. Sure, you pay a little more, but when it breaks, you just call them.

OBD port (On Board Diagnostics) when you take your rover into the dealership they hook their computer up to it through this port (looks like an over sized computer printer port like on the back of a PC) and the rover tells the computer what is wrong with it. It can be used for many things such as emission testing, monitoring engine speed, temp, etc. Newer vehicles have the ability to tell the computer at the emission station what their emissions are. If one of your sensors for this is not working properly, it will cause an inaccurate reading or as you said before, faults to appear on the testing station screen. Another option for you would be to have them shove that pole or w/e it is for older vehicles up the tail pipe of your rover and just test it that way. I don't know if they will oblige that request but, its worth a shot. If they will not allow it to be tested that way then I guess just keep complaining at the dealer until they get it right, good luck to ya!
