Current Leasing Offers from Land Rover
I just received the leasing numbers from Land Rover and their numbers are awful. There is clearly a push for you to buy the car instead of leasing it because they don't know what the residuals will be.
I passed on a $1,562 / month leaseon a 2008 Range Rover HSE with Lux (selling price of $62,000). It was about $500 a monthover what it should be.
They are not the only car company in this situation. It is bad for everyone as they can't move cars and buyers aren't going to pay that much of a premium to lease as it defeats the purpose: $1,562 x 36 months = $56,232 on a $62,000 car. Hmmmm.

That is pure insanity. Honestly, attractive lease offers will allow customers to buy the cars, allow you to lease it for $35K and then sell it for $35K and they would be better off.
Those numbers will not work in this day and age.

I agree, I was all set to swap out cars but then walked when I saw those numbers. They are being very foolish and too careful. As a car company you have to find any way to move these vehicles especially the left over 2008's which is what I was considering.
I think they are forgetting how good leasing is for a dealership. The same customer will take a new car every 2 - 3 years which is a dream for their business. Of course they have to watch the residuals but there is no reason why they shouldn't be doing a deal like this...
