Default Detailed write up on coil-over conversion

I just completed my coil-over conversion from Atlantic British with the bilstein shocks. Their instructions are fairly complete, but FAR from step-by-step for anyone doing it the first time and they're oriented for mechanics with a lift. I learned a lot of little tricks that will help someone just doing it in their garage with a floor jack.

I've searched and can find only threads that reference the conversion, not a complete write up. Is there maybe an ancient thread I can't find on it? If so, maybe it could be a sticky, if not, I'll be happy to write one. Wish I would have taken more pictures. Basically it took me 15 hours to do what they called a 4 hour job. There's probably 3 hours of running for tools in there, but still. 4 hours I believe if you've done this a few times, and have an organized shop with quick access to all the tools you need, and if you're working with a clean, fairly new vehicle without a lot of rust or dirt build up.

It can take a while if you haven't done it before but it is fairly straight forward and intuitive. Back in college I swapped a set of coils from one Rover to another in under 3 hours in the parking ot of my dorm. All I had was a jack, spring compressor, and a socket set. I had a Disco that I put an OME 3" lift on and then a month later I found one that was a year newer and in a better color so I bought it and swapped the lifted coils to the new Disco.

Wait, I just noticed you are from MI. Central Michigan as in CMU or just the middle of the state?

You're right, the process is nothing you can't figure out, but I know some people would appreciate more detail in their instructions, maybe a list of tools needed, stuff like that.

Yep, CMU area. Not a student, but I do live here in Mt Pleasant. We're actually hoping to make a run to your neck of the woods around Silver Lake before the season's over.

So...I'm guessing since no one's chiming in with "yeah, there's a great write up at this link" that maybe I should get busy?

I think a well written guide could be beneficial. Especially one geared towards the shade tree mechanics with limited tools. Pictures are always a plus. Be sure to mention that you can "barrow" some of the tools you will need (such as the spring compressor) for free from places like Autozone.

Well, I won't be doing a write up until I'm absolutely sure my installation is correct. I finally got around to bypassing the EAS, which is supposed to be just disconnect the battery and a plug in the becm, then replace with the bypass cable, and reconnect the battery.

But NOooo - I hopped in excited to take my first test ride of the new suspension and all kinds of gremlins have popped up. I have 5-6 bulb failure warnings, neither of the right side windows work, and now the battery's dead. Something didn't work right.

Does this sound familiar to anybody who's done the conversion? It's got to be something I either missed, or didn't connect completely, or broke in the process. Thoughts?
