Engine cooling problems in 1999 range rover p38
I was on my way home from DC in my 1999 4.0 range rover when i looked down and i saw that the temp was in the red.. i put the heat on and it drop significantly and also i was on the freeway.. but then it raised back up again.. up and down till i finnailly got it home.. i started it up yesterday and let it sit after i put some coolent in.. it warmed up just fine.. and sat for a bit then started over heating again.. popped the hood and coolent was steaming out from underneth the cap where u fill up the coolent.and i shut it off... I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHATS WRONG?
hope its not an internal engine problem...

I had the same problem on my 2000 4.0. I took it to my mechanic who could not get it to over heat with him. It took a week to happen again, but I caught it. I was losing pressure/coolant from the expantion tank. The seam where the black cap meets the white tank had a leak. $69.95 for new tank from AB and fixed it myself

Hello my name is Ernie i just Bouth a 1996 Range Rover 4.6 and i have a two questions the first one is if is normal that the Engine fan is working all the time or it has to stop when the engine is cold? and the other question is the A/C is working fine buy after 10 minutes or so it stops from sending cold air and the air is hut how can i solve this problems thank you very much. for your help.
