Anyone have any updates for the Front Differential Recall supposedly forthcoming on the Range Rover?

 

Some states are already performing this recall, and most will be ready within a coulpe of months. This is a huge recall, every dealership is sent special tools to perform it, so Land Rover is gradually introducing this recall so that they can keep up with demand.

 

My car is a 2002 TD6. Will this be recalled??

 

since its not a us spec car i doubt it... are the third and fourth digits of the vin lm or lp... this makes all the difference

 

Can anyone confirm that this recall is going to happen? I have been told by my dealer that it is not on the books. Any specifics would be helpful.

 

I was told by my dealership yesterday that it is definitely in the works. The releases will be staggered, but should see some kind of activity in the next couple of months. They will also be reimbursing for people who've already had the service performed by an authorized dealer. Still not exactly sure what the scope of the repair is to include.

 

its not a diff replacement. its replacing the input flange for it, rest is the same diff you came in with, just changing the way the drive shaft connects to the diff

 

What is the diffrence between lm & lp on vin number

 

everything... lm is the new body style, bmw engine, 5, or 6, speed trans, and a whole lot more, only thing that i can think are the same between the 2 are the nav computer, and that was only for 2 years or lm. lp is from 95.5my to 2002, and lm is 2003 on (nas spec cars)

 

I'm getting a "Clunk" sound on ocassion in the front end of my 2005 RR. I also notice it when turning, I'm wondering if this could be rlated to this recall. Any ideas?
