Default Going to look at a 2008 RRS today ... Guidance

Hello all,
Well, Santa wasn't good to me this year so I have to take matters into my own hands. I am going to look at a 2008 Range Rover Sport HSE today at a dealer about an hour away. It has 53,000 miles on it and they are asking $21,000. It was involved in an accident its first year with a rear impact. Also, the carfax does say that the lower control arm bushings were replaced under warranty. Anywho, I know the discovery 2 like the back of my hand but know little about the RRS. As far as my research tells me, they are pretty reliable (especially the 08 year) and receive good reviews generally. Anything in particular I should look out for? Any options on it are considered a must (it does have heated seats .... Can't believe that wasn't standard on a $60,000 truck). Interesting to know if they all have the option installed but some just don't include the button like on the discovery. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Starcraft,

I currently own an 04' Discovery 2 and am contemplating buying a RRS because the prices are so damn cheap along with gas.

From what I have gathered, if you can tool on an 03'-04' Disco i believe some knowledge will transfer over to the RRS.

The Years to buy these cars are in 08'/09 right before the Facelift. I have also heard that these models seem to be the better bets. I would say get one from a Dealer so you can haggle for carfax and service records and possibly get them to fix something for you or even quite possible sell you a warranty.

As long as the engine and Trans are solid, i don't mind if things around it need doing, at this point after having my truck for 8-years i'm pretty used to it.

Check the expensive stuff so at least you can limit the damage control you'll have to do once its in your driveway.

That is a good deal in my opinion I bought mine February 2015 lowest I talked salesman down to was $23.5K had 65K miles. So far I put 20k miles mine is running like a champ! First thing I did when I purchased mine was the transfer case needed a reseal,Plastic piece on the thermostat housing started to leak so replaced that while your in there you want to replace the thermostat, the seals, and T-valve. Brake Light Module went out pretty much all the lights on my dash started to come on. Other then that its treating me good so far! I can hear my lower control arm bushings starting to go bad, but ill get to those later and my TPMS is blinking and every once in a while the check engine light comes on because I got a faulty gas pedal. Nice cars but def need keep up with maintenance. Anyway if you need more help let me know!

BTW try and stay away from the supercharged even though they are cooler. Less things to worry about on the 4.4L NA motor

2008 RRS
85k mi., still rides like a brand new vehicle.
only problems, tire alignment & arm bushings. I do let the dealer/stealer perform all maintenance per the manual though
