Default Heater blower has bad ground??

I'm new to posting because I usually find what I need by looking in previous posts, but i can't find the answer to this one...

'92 3.9L
My heater blower has stopped working. The A/C blower turns on no problem. By the way it slowly died down to blowing nothing leads me to believe that it has a bad ground somewhere. Does anyone know where I should start looking for the ground?

I've tried poking around under the dash on the passenger side but i can't find anything. My worst fear is that the ground is somewhere under the body panel between the hood and the windshield. I had that off last month to replace the wiper motor, and it was a PAIN!!

any help would be greatly appreciated.
ps. it's cold with no heat.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe you have two separate blows, you only have one. It sounds like your control unit may have failed on the heat mode.

so if it works only when switched to AC, is it that AC-Fresh air-recycle switch that is bad?
And also while it was slowly dying it would only blow on high speed when i took a right turn at more than a slow speed.

I'm assuming this might be the Classic Body?, I have an '88 Classic and it does have 2 separate blower motors. The one for heat defrost is right under the top of the center of the dash. Very difficult to get to without removing theentire dash, (I haven't done mine yet)My heater/defrost motor rattles bad like the shaft is loose onthe fins. My A/C works great separate motor just above the floor board passenger side and easy to get to.If this is aClassic Body you can remove the right center defrostercover and the cup that is just underthedash through the hole(fairly flexible plastic) and the wire connections to the motorarein that area (takes small hands) and I'm not sure if the ground connection is there but there is a lot of metal so it could be attached somewhere in there. On the left side there is sort of a floating bearing cap(holds the other end of themotor shaft)that can freeze up or lock up. SinceI don't drive my classicas much, I have not worried about taking my motorout and just deal with the rattle when I do drive it. According to the Stealership they say that you have to take the entire dash out to get the motorout, and this is an 8 hourproject for later.

I'm not sure when they changed to1 motor but from whatI have learned thedash that has the round defroster vents have 2 motors, however yours may havemade the changeto one motor, might be worth looking down through the top and if you see a steel cylinder case you have the motor I have spoke of. You will not be able to see it through the A/C vents in the center as there is a steel guard between the A/C ducts and the motor.
