Land Rover Sales Down 18 Percent Worldwide
LAND ROVER, a unit of the Indian group Tata, saw sales fall by 18 per cent worldwide this year and by 12 per cent in Germany.[/b]
"For 2008, I'm expecting 7200 new registrations after 8178 in the previous year,' the German magazine Auto, Motor and Sport quoted Jeffrey Scott, head of the company's German operations, as saying in comments released ahead of their publication.
He added that Land Rover would sell about 185,000 vehicles worldwide in 2008, down from 226,395 the previous year.
Mr Scott declined to give a detailed outlook for 2009, but did say he expected unit sales for both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands to be lower next year than in 2008.
