Latest news on Synthetic vs. traditional oil
With all the readings/articles and experience out there can some of you owners report back whether switching to synthetic oil (changing at every 5,000 miles) is better for your Range Rovers or simply stick to the traditional oil and change it at every 3,000 miles.
Thank you in advance for your comments.

Just stick with a good name brand dino oil.
I use Shell Rotella 15w-40 in the summer and 5w-40 in the winter with NAPA Gold oil filters and change the oil every 5,000 miles.
Rotella is a heavy duty oil and lasts forever and can be bought almost anywhere.
If you do enough research you will find that full synthetic motor oils are just dino base oils with synthetic additives and modifiers.
Heavy duty oil is a dino base oil with heavy duty additives and modifiers.
The only true full syn oils are Amsoil and Royal Purple and Redline, but those are also $10+ per quart.
www.bobistheoilguy.com has a ton of info on motor oil, more info than you've ever wanted to know about oil.
