my 1999 land rover range rover is leaking transmission fluid slighty what should i do?

Where exactly is the leak coming from, such as the bell housing, the pan gasket, drain plug etc? Pictures would really help.

 

You need to crawl under the vehicle and see exactly where it is coming from. Usually where it is dripping from is not where the leak is. Then, when you find it, report back. Having a Land Rover that leaks isn't the end of the world.

 

I would be more afraid of the Land Rover that didn't leak. The only time mine don't leak is when they are out of fluid...

 

how do i even check the transmission fluid level? becuase i know land rover look out the trans. dipstick on this model. why would they even do that?

 

Check it cold while at idle I believe. That is how I check mine.

 

can you explain to me exactly how to do that? im new to rover but im in love with em.

 

You have to take out the fill plug, it should be overflowing a tiny bit. If it is, then the level is correct. Your owners manual might give you more insight on how to do it.

 

Scott, Isn't there a dipstick? Mine has one. Did LR eliminate them at some point? Just curious.
