Looking to Buy L322, checking with the forum pros first!
I have a 2003 I am looking for get for $7000. It has 130k miles and looks REALLY nice (of course the dealer shined it up)
I took it for a test drive today and notices that it smelled a little hot when I turned the head on (no it wasn't smelling hot because of the heater...i dont think)
So i pulled over and opened the hood. For about 4 seconds there was some white smoke coming from what I think was this rear bolt. What is this bolt? What is under it? And, does it look norma?
He has had a lot of work done to the breaks and air suspension at the dealership so that's a plus. Also it has a little orange light with a triangle and an arrow going in a circle. I think I found that it means DSC, is that a big problem? Easily fixable? Also think the break light is on but thats just a sensor.
It doesn't have an inspection sticker because he is a dealer. Are these notorious for failing emission inspections? (I'm in MA)
I got the car fax and it failed twice over 12 years but then passed right after. Any reason to think it would fail now?
Also I tried to upload a video, does this sound right for a 2003 L322 with 130k miles?
Thanks so much in advance!

That model is a COMPLETE DOG and has the BMW V8 engine. The engine is known to leak oil more than you can imagine, has failing timing chain/tensioners at or before your mileage, plugged up crankcase vent, leaking cooling system, bad water pumps, leaks in the upper engine cover and the list goes on and on.
I would not be interested if they paid me $1,000 to take it. It is essentially worth next to nothing.
