Default new to us 1988 RRC!

After looking at a few disco 1's and RRC's - we made an offer and picked up a 1988 RRC this week. Torianna (16 yo daughter) is trying to come with a name. So far Rowena and Reginald are leaders.

It's weird in that nearly everything works - there's working sunroof, working AC, working power seats! The window registers are all non-functional to some degree, and the blower fan puts up a racket. There's some rust in the left front fender to deal with. It also came with standard grey Rangie wheels, but the red is sort of growing on us!

The interior is in pretty good shape, and the headliner is not sagging.

Can't wait to start fixing stuff. Wipers are cady wampous and rear hatch needs some help in latching. There's surface rust on the pillars to deal with, and some jumpy U-joints. It goes down the freeway at 70mph - which is a nice change from the series rig.

Default new to us RRC

the blower noise comes on with the AC. All of the RRC's (5 I've seen thus far) in the local boneyards are missing this piece - so it must be a common failure

Default heater blower

It's kind of funny - I've spent about 4 hours dinking around with the cowling so that I could replace the $.23 e clip holding the wiper assembly on the motor output. I know the underdash stuff is worse - which is why I liked the exposed components in the series trucks.
