Default P38 Range Rover tranny question

I have an '02 P38 with 100K miles an recently the tranny's shift point has increased about 300-500 rpm from first to second and if using sport mode the downshifting while braking is not smooth, a little jerky actually. Also, the shifting is not as smooth and is now firm from 1st to second, and it many times seems that it refuses to shift until it reaches that elevated shift point. Does this sound like a transmission fluid problem which I'm assuming it is, or could this be something much more severe?

Default RE: P38 Range Rover tranny question

Are you getting any warning lights on your dash, how often do you service the tranny? I wouls suggest that you drain the tranny fluid ASAP, don't worry about a filter, it is not needed an put one bottle of Lucas tranny additive in with the ATF. After 2 or 3 days of driving, if it hasn't improved, you may be looking at an upcoming problem. What ever you do don't wait and do take it in for a tranny flush, this would only shorten your trannys life at this point.
