Default radio code help...!

A friend of mine just purchased a 95 RR and the original stereo had been removed for an aftermarket one. He got the original along with the code and we have had no success in making the code work. we called the dealership and the code checks with their system but also the stereo does not have the serial number on it anywhere. We also know that after 3 attempts you have to wait 1 hour b/f re-entry of the code... any advice would be much appreciated...!!!

Well...does it say anything at all on the screen? I think mine says "code in". If it says nothing, you may not have power going to the radio. If you have power going to it and it won't take the code, then it is most likely broken or you have the wrong code. I shipped mine off to Roverville Radio and was very happy with the results. The price was reasonable too.

thanks for the reply, we have power b/c the radio is showing code and as we keep searching for more info we are convinced the code is wrong, I did speak to LR Grand Rapids today and the service guy said that the next step would be using the radio's serial # but there is no number in site anywhere so I think we are going to take the aftermarket radio path for now to get him some music...

have you tried opening the radio up and looking for the serial number? Generally computer manufacturers put the number on the silicon boards inside the computers.
