Has anyone ever tried changing from the leaky power steering units to a more robust manual steering unit for a Range Rover Classic? I have a '93 LWB and would like to change to manual steering to simplify the engine bay.

 

sounds like a GREAT idea. did you ever get this done? UK parts available? seems like a wide range of years will work. I have 93 LWB and SWB. the SWB needs a box now. great time to change it.
