Hello everyone, new to this forum, and range rovers. My range rover is causing me to have a huge headache. It's a 2007 Supercharged Sport with 110k miles. I don't have warranty so that’s off the list. So far I’m having codes P240B, P0504, U0121, U0122, and U2023. My airbag light, DSC, Suspension, brake, ABS, Park, and this one light with a suv and arrows on top. I already put a new brake switch and checked to see if all my lights are working, which they are. The battery is running at 14+ volts while on. The speedometer is also not working, nor is the odometer. I don't even know my millage because it won't go up its just frozen. All the fuses are okay as well. I also have a parking brake fault and when i put on the parking brake a really loud noise occurs, and there's lots of noise from the suspension while driving. Transmission fault is showing too and it says limited gears. I don't know what to do.

 

Couple points to make and some questions:

1) what type of diagnostic tool are you using?
2) have you tried clearing fault codes after the repair?

3) any time you post codes, please provide the description as well. Also, when you post codes, please post the additional symptom identifier, (i.e. your P0504 could either be P0504-29 or P0504-64)

4) has any work been done prior to this even happening?

5) can you scan the ABS system for faults or does it not communicate?

 

hi my names gaz i have a disco 2 big fan and on my fourth disco problem turning over can jump in starts straight away or just aone click noise its not battery if i keep trying with the one click it will fire up once running its fine

 

I first used a regular average obd2 scanner then used a snap on from a friend. I put a new brake switch and new battery. When i reset the codes they all come back right away. I do have a spare tire on, and my speedometer and trip don't work. I attached the codes from Snap on scanner.

 

Can you go in and communicate with the ABS module? Vehicle speed comes from a wheel speed sensor, interpreted by the ABS module and put on the vehicle CAN Bus, which is how the Speedometer, Engine Computer and Transmission get vehicle speed. If you can't communicate with the ABS module, then fixing that comms issue with likely fix several of your problems.

 

Always start a new post for a new problem. Also post in the proper section. This is "Range Rover". There is a dedicated section for Disco II.
But it sounds like you have a failing starter assembly.

 

Is that done through the Snap On scanner?

 

Yes, instead of doing a "vehicle scan", scroll through the individual modules until you find Anti-Lock Brakes. Go into the module and check for codes and attempt to go into Data Stream. If it won't communicate, you'll get an error telling you it can't communicate, make sure the key is on. Let me know if it communicates.

 

I will check that, I'm taking it to a shop tomorrow to have it checked out, if it doesn't communicate does that mean i need a new abs module?

 

It could mean that, but there are a few things to always check before hanging a new module.
