Rear DVD installion

Rear DVD installion
My wife and I would like to have a DVD player in the back seat for the kids but don't want to pay the nearly $3000 to have it fully installed at the dealer. We have an awesome shop here locally who can install these products. The dealer said that it is risky because they could damage the electrical system and void the warranty. This shop does all the local work for the car dealers and they have indicated that they have put these systems in many Range Rovers without any reported problems. Has anyone heard of these warnings and are there any thoughts on installing aftermarket DVD players?

RE: Rear DVD installion
The dealers always state this sort of warning and to their defense they need to state this as there are many bad shops out there that don't know what they are doing and can cause more issues (and lets face it, Range Rover doesn't need any help in creating electrical issues). However, if you go to a reputable shop you have nothing to worry about.
Aftermarket DVD's are often much better than factory although you won't get the tight integration of the Land Rover version. With the Land Rover version you will have RSE controls from the main navigation in the front. On the other hand, the RR screens are rather small and the aftermarket shops can go much bigger and most likely for less.
If you are going to have a shop put the screens in the headrests you need to find out if they plan on replacing your headrests or modifying your current ones. If they are replacing them you have a potential matching issue.
Is the $3,000 price tag for the RR screens an installed price?
