1995 rrc lwb.

have a high idle on startup 1300-1500 rpm then 1200 rpm after several minutes....while driving around around 1000 rpm. if after driving you stop and put in park...idle will rise 1500+ starts spiking

i tried adjusting idle screw but same thing....changed stepper....same thing...its an annoying problem .......i am a bit worried about shifting from park to reverse and drive when idle is high...clunk etc

 

I'd check the stepper again, but you may also want to check the TPS. Plug a Rovergauge to see what's going on with the 14CUX. I had a bad TPS that was telling the 14CUX it was redlining when it was actually idling. Check your vacuum lines for cracking as well.
