i have 1990 RRC and had the cel come on, when i checked the "black box" it had a code 44.
which i believe is the driver o2 sensor?
any tricks to replacing the lh o2?
any universal o2's that fit that anyone knows of or should i only use oem like a Disco?

really; no one has replace a 02 sensors on a RRC

check the wiring to the sensor before actually buying a sensor. make sure its just not a short in the wire. if the sensor is dead then you need part ERR6729 around $100 each side. need 2.
