RRC LWB VS. P38, I can't decide which one to buy.

By first post I mean your first post post on this forum asking the same question. You have two active threads here asking the same question and I have replied in the first as well.
The restoration idea came from the fact you already have dependable transportation and you want to take a 17 year old RRC and make it a safe and reliable daily driver. This made me ask myself at what point does a number of repairs become a restoration? A rolling restoration... where once in while your truck has to come off the daily grind for a few days to do some preventive maintenance (my preference because its on my schedule) or necessary repair, or more fun, an upgrade. Regardless if you are talking here about a Disco, RRC or P38, I've noticed that most people on this forum, myself included, have the notion they will be driving their trucks until all that's left of them is the oil spot on the driveway.
Choose wisely, do you want the red pill or the blue pill.

Go for the Classic. They are beautiful, rugged looking machines. Machines that absolutely redefined the world of 4x4s. It's a brilliant design. And it's a head turner. Yeah, its got its quirks, but every Land Rover does, and you'd probably have more issues with a P38. And when I look at a RRC, I really do see a truck with soul. Not a blinged out pimp machine that belongs on the street instead of the trail. And I's be willing to bet the P38 will put a bigger smile on your face.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Disco II to death. I'll be driving it until it disintegrates from under me. But when I get my hands on a nice RRC, the Disco will cease to be my daily driver.

@wreckdiver1321:
I think you nailed it, I also love the clean, rugged, elegant looks of the Classic and I would buy one over a P38 in a heartbeat but the problem is, I'm going to be using it as my DD and I spend more time in the interior, not the exterior and in the inside, the P38 wins hands down, so I think I would get accustomed to the more modern exterior of the P38 while the only advantage the Classic has is the better looking exterior and that it's easier to work on. So in the end, I think I would be better off with a P38, but if I had an extra space in the garage to maybe restore a Classic, then that would be the way to go.

Now I'll have to counter that with another point. A newer RRC interior looks pretty good to me. Yes, the older, squarer one isn't the best looking. but the later versions look pretty good to me. I quite like the look of those. And you get to look at that glorious exterior. And have more room for your stuff in a RRC.

P38 does have a lovely interior, but the 'soft dash' classics are also really nice (think contemporary Discovery dash after a visit from the 'luxury fairy'). That would be my ideal RRC.
Fuel economy (hahahaha) seems to be similar for both of them, but the P38 will be faster. Then again, if you want fast, get a Porsche, not a LR.
