Default Which RRs have perkins engine

I'm currently looking for a reliable range rover, and afaik the ones with perkins engines are the most realiable. Would prefer 1980-88 and 1994-96 models.

Which models were fitted with perkins engine?
Was RR Classic ever available with galvanized parts to prevent rust?
What are the common problems that I should expect?

Perkins makes very good diesels.
No RR were fitted with a Perkins from the factory.
Perkins conversions were quite common in the UK.
The RRC didn't come with galvanized parts.

How come? My father had a classic for about 15 years... He said it had perkins engine, but I don't remember him telling that it was converted... AFAIK that RR was bought in Italy or Germany...

Land Rover made their own diesels during that time period. Like said above, Perkins was a common swap once the first engine gave it up.
