A silly thing happened today.
I was working on my Land Rover today. Its my first Land Rover. I picked it up last week. It is a 1992 Range Rover that needs a lot of work. I was replacing the oil and filter. I refilled the Swivel ball oil. I rewired several wires that were cut. I flushed out the radiator and refilled it. I noticed that several of the bolts holding the pulley and alternator were loose. I tighten all of them. While I was working on it. I noticed that the coolant wasn't moving through the radiator. I had the radiator cap off (that small plastic cap on the left side of the radiator). I did notice that the top hose was hot and getting hotter. I guess it was the heat or the exhaustion that I was feeling but I decided to remove the top hose. I did and got hosed by the coolant. It was under a lot of pressure. I was amazed how hot it was. I got coolant over my topless CJ7 which was sitting next to my range over. The mess! It was everywhere. They aren't kidding about coolant, it is sweet. I am such a silly boy.
rovers are full of surprizes. gotta love them. remember coolant is a poison. if you have pets around make sure to clean the area or they can get sick, bad sick. gotta love a rover. duboff
