Red face Supporting Mods for OME HD coil conversion

Hey, Forum

So I pulled the trigger and bought the front and rear HD coil springs for my P38.

Now. I want to know what else she'll NEED. I was going to put in new u-joints(stock) but with the new coil I figured I'd get HD ones as well from RandC4x4 GKN brand.

What else might she need? She's got brand new bilsteins on all 4 corners.

I want to do wheel hub bearings on all 4 corners so I'll probably do that.

What bushings should I get at while in there? Is there a bushing upgrade kit?
I also am torn between the OME and Terrafirma steering dampener. Gonna do some research on those right now.

Thanks!

Best,
Ashtray

edit: Ah! And I got an EAS harness clip from AB. Forgot to mention that.

On the damper I would get it to match, but I e the tf nothing wrong with it.
You can get great deals on hubs on eBay, like $75 each with new sensor s.Taylor is the manufacture.

Thanks for the tip on the hubs and the damper!

As far as perches or things like that...the springs are drop in correct?

I believe you said your truck has a spring conversation. So it should just be like for like.

then you are going to need a whole conversion kit or a trip to the bone yards.
you will need spring perches and spring seat, spring isolators.

i would look at a kit; I see AB has a kit the comes with blisteins.
its possible you can buy the kit with out shocks

Yeah the kit saves sooo much money. Decided to buy their HD kit without the shocks. It comes with everything you need and really does save you money.

A quick question. The rover seems super squirrely when going over bumps. Like the other day I took a turn over some really nasty road patches, and the truck seemed to actually slide out of the turn in a very unsafe manner. Are these my ball joints or what could it be?

hard to say best to jack it up and shake and rattle the front end to be sure.
it would not be uncommon to need tie rod ends or a drag link.

i had the same feeling last week it felt like the front end was going to wash out,
which it when I found the broken sway bar link on mine

Just an update!

Ending up getting the TerraFirma HD coil conversion kit. Super cheap, came with brand name coils, override harness and all other components needed for the install + instructions. Should be going in soon.

she already came in and I just need to plan a space of time to install. I also got my HD ujoints but the seller messed up and only sent 1 set as appose to 2 sets which is what I ordered. I'm getting the second set in another horrible 2 weeks.

On a side note I also purchased a battery cover for under the bonnet since my Rover did not come with one.
