Default Telephone Button On '04 OBC Radio

There is a button with a picture of a telephone on it, located just below the "Open/Close Display Panel" button onthe OBC radio in my2004 HSE, (did anyone actually still listen to cassette tapes in 2004?). I've been all through the owner's handbookand audio & navigation manual and can't find any reference to this button. Is this for bluetooth connection to cell phone? If so could somebody explain briefly how it works - I don't see any other phone type related buttons in the vehicle, (like U-Connect etc.).

Good question. I'm also curious as what this button does. But I've heardit's the"onstar" button. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw, our 04 RR does not come with BT, in fact the whole navi system pretty much sucks ***. I'm considering upgrading to the Pioneer avic-z2 with the BT and iPod adapter. I can't stand using the worthless navi system in my range. THE worst navi system just like any other european vehicles.

Sorry I had to vent.

The interface in the 03-04 range rover is of course BMW, and this phone button is inactive. It's possible to activate it by purchasing the upgrade which you can find via a simple web search and on this site.
