Tranny probs
Hi All,
I have a transmission problem I hope you can help with...
I have a 2006 Range Rover Sport with 25K miles, purchased as certified pre-owned. Upon acceleration from dead stop and rolling stop, engine revs for 2 sec then slams into gear...makes pulling into traffic scary...
Also, when coasting downhill, with foot off accelerator, engine RPMs jump 400 (from 2100 to 2500rpm), then upon accelerating again at bottm of hill, egine feels like it shifts again and rpms return to normal (e.g. 2100 for 70mph).
Dealer says all is normal....

Wow, that does not sound normal. I am assuming that the tranny fluid level is normal but that would have been the first palce I would look. Take it to a transmission shop. It may even sound like one of the pumps is going out in the transmission. Mine did that on my 97' when the forward pump went out, but it only did it when I tried to shift into gear.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.
take it to the dealership. theres a software update for the engine and the trransmission that will fix this. as to the downhill coasting, it is probably normal, sounds like its locking and unlocking the torque conv clutch, which it will do if your wheels start driving the car, not your engine
