Default Verdict on the 99 RR

1. It is a 2001, OOPS
2. The Starter filled with water and mud from hitting a puddle at the land and killed the starter.
3. MAF was bad
4. Tow $300.00 repairs $1,400.00
Should be back by Monday

I've driven mine through rivers deep enough to come part way up the windshield. As long as I was in and out quickly I had no problem. (I had a stone chip in one of my headlights and it filled with water and looked like a fish bowl when I got out) I did get stuck in a river crossing with my Disco and it flooded my ECU. I took it apart and dried it in the sun and was up and running in a couple hours. A puddle shouldn't have done that much damage. I bet if you let it sit long enough the starter would work again. You might have been able to clean the MAF. Sounds like your dealer ripped you off. $1400 is outrageous.

So it wasn't just the solenoid?! Thought I had that one pegged.
