Verdict on anti-freeze?
So what's the consensus here on the forum for anti-freeze? Dexcool is out, right? What about water wetter?
Going to install new t-stat (190) and wanna make sure I've got the right stuff to but back into my '03 disco.
FYI, not sure if it matters but I live in "Bahston," and never off-road my disco. Just look-cool-soccer-dad.
Thanks,
Rob

180 t stat is the popular recommendation. water wetter is fine, some claim that it makes a difference. i did not see one. also some stick to dexcool, but there are alot of dexmud photos out there.so, I opt to go with the popular consensus = green stuff 50/50. prestone for me.
With the wide range heat gauge, you won't know when Dexmud has built up unless you check radiator top to bottom with an IR thermometer, should be within 10F. Owner manual says change coolant 2 years or 30,000 miles, no one reads those things.
I like green 50/50.

I haven't bothered to read up on it. Is it OAT?
The way I look at it is one type of antifreeze might clog up the system when exposed to air. The other type won't.
So I don't see why anyone would consider running dexcool when there's a zero risk alternative.
