Default Water in the Boot

I have a 1997 Range Rover HE 4.0 . I have seen alot of water in my spare tire compartment lately. I don't see any opening in the floor surface so I am wondering where it could be coming from? Is this a common problem?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I had the same problem on mine. On mine, the water was leaking in from the seal on the hatch and dripping onto the carpet and then to the spare tire well. I just waited for a good downpour and got in the back seat area to have a look. Of course, you could use a garden hose to soak it down and then have a look. Hope that helps you out.

Default Water in Boot (Cont)

The rear seals seem to be in great shape. I see/feel no water at all in the headliner or the rear carpet. What's really strange is the car has been garaged and not sunject to the weather at all and still more water made its' way into the spare tire area. I am thinking now it may be related to my sunroof problem (code that it is open-although no wind noise and no obvious opening). The motor works but the sunroof won't move in either direction.

I can't see how water could get in there with the vehicle inside. If you are sure it is not washer fluid then it must be coming from outside. Did you try to soak it down with a hose while looking inside?

Default Boot leak cont

Yes I used a hose and sprayed the entire back of the car checking for leaks but no water leaked in. It's strange that water accumulates when left garaged.
