Default water leaking

Hi, I have a 2002 range rover hse, I noticed water puddled underneath the engine compartment and assumed it was from the ac, wrong it overheated yesterday, today I topped it off and started the engine. the water is comming from the opposite side of the starter. right where the engine block meets the tranny. there is some little motor like sticking in the engine at first i thought it was the starter, anywas it seems to be comming from there, one more thing the drivers side seat heater seems to be on even the the indicator light is off and ive never used it before. sorry for the long expanation any help is appreciated.

I think you need to keep looking to find out where the leak is from. If you live in a cold climate it could be a cracked head, if it is normal weather then it may be a bad hose to the heater core or something worse. I would spend some more time under there looking for the cause though.

One of your freeze plugs might also be coming out a bit. Would explain the noise as well as the puddle. what exactly does the noise sound like? Unfortunately you will need to drop the transmission and disconnect the flywheel to get a good enough view to see if it is a freeze plug. It could also be a hose like rob stated, which is what I would look for first, considering its doesn't involve taking down the transmission .

thanks rob and scott, I fear the both of you are right. most of the water is coming from where the core is located(when i got the rover the seller told me he had already replaced the core twice and wondered if they werent being installed right.) the rest of the water is still coming down from the opposite side of the motor. I've heard removing that dash is a bear. i've got my work cut out for me. thanks
