What to buy? 95 Classic or newer model?
I owned a 93 LWB and a 95LWB and loved them both. I am looking to get another RR but have also been considering the newer models (i'm not sure what the 95-00 models are called so I have some difficulty searching for prior postsi'm sure this has been discussed). I like the classics simplicity, styling and room but are the newer models quieter, safer, smoother, etc? Or are they rife with electrical and other problems? What do you think?
If you did a lot of work yourself on your classic, i'd go for the P38. It's basically a classic updated to be more reliable and luxurious. You can still fix just about any problems that arise with about the same amount of work (or less) than problems on a LWB. The MKIII is nicer on road and the interior is significantly updated but there are a number of electrical problems and such that can occur. Personally, I like they P38's styling more then the MKIII. It's really not that different from the classics. As for quieter, the classic<P38<MKIII. The acoustic dampening glass in the MKIII is really nice.
If you go for a P38 or MKIII i'd be sure to get one of the later models as they are more solid and reliable overall.
Let us know if you pick one up!
