Default Wheel Bearing Roaring LIke 747

Just finished up the strutmasters coilover kit, took her for the first ever ride, and got a wheel bearing roaring like crazy, can't tell which one yet, can't believe the prices on those things.

Bearings are VERY difficult to replace. The steps are not numerous, but you will need a hydraulic press capable of 20 tons. When they finally pop off, it will make a sound like an explosion.
Easyest way to tell which one it is, is to put it on blocks, put the rover in neutral, and turn each wheel. More than likely the one that is broken, will be harder to turn.

Here are the steps for replacement: http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdet...rain/hubs.html

If the bearing is that bad you will likely have some additional free play on that wheel as well. When you have the truck lifted up, push and pull it in various directions. One wheel with probably have noticeably more free play than the others.

You usually need to replace the whole assembly, but not always. The bearings can be purchased separately http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/FTC1507.cfm. However, replacing the hub does not require a hydraulic press, but replacing the bearings does.

2002 Range Rover 4.6 HSE, i just took a ride in the back seats, hung my head out the window, and it sounds like its both sides, when you accelerate, it goes away completely, when you turn hard left or right it goes away completely, i can't believe it would be both bearings at the same time? rear end ? sheesh i don't know how to diagnose it further.

There might be an issue form the coil conversion. I do not think that all of a sudden the bearing would go out as soon as you drove it the first time if it was not making any noise before then, let a lone both.

There may be an issue with your driveshaft or who knows, I would check over the suspension wey well and see what you find.
