Default '03 Disco - AIR Resovior

Hi everyone. My wife and I purchased an '03 Disco back in July and have loved it. I found this site online and have been able to answer several questions about the vehicle with info found here. I decided to post, as i couldent find any info on my issue.

Just took the LR to the dealer for the 120k service. Was very happy with the work and the tech even took me back to the rack to show me some things with the vehicle and answer some of my questions. One of the things they pointed out to me was that the "AIR Reservoir" was missing.

The tech showed me where it should be passenger side of the engine compartment and close to the firewall. Also showed me where the hoses run to on either side of the block. They offered to order and install, but it seemed like easy thing to do as I replaced the lower radiator hose assembly and thermostat myself several weeks prior due to a leak.

My problem is this, I cant seem to find the part online. I think my issue is that I dont know the exact name of the part(s). Can someone help?

Thanks much!

Most likely they are tralking about your SAI system and if that is the case, you will either want to go find a good guaranteed used set of parts or order directly thru the Dealers parts department.
Did they mention anything to you about the front drive shaft and it's high failure rate.
If it hasn't been rebuilt or replaced with one that has grease fittings on each u-joint, then that is very high on your priority list cause when it fail, and they do, it can destroy your tranny also.

Thanks for the info Disco Mike. I was wanting to avoid the dealership as the closest one is over an hour away. I'll have to see if they can ship to me to avoid the trip.

As for the front drive shaft, they didnt say anything about it, but overall the vehicle appears to have been well maintained. Is there any quick check I can do to see if it has been changed?

Thanks again for the info. Its much appreciated!

Very easy to check. Get under your vehicle and check for the grease fittings on each u-joint. There should be 3 on the front drive shaft, 1 at the front differential end and 2 in the double cardon joint on the transfer case end.

Here's a good write up on doing it yourself if it has not been rebuilt.

OK. sorry for the delay in post. Been busy with other things and resolving some other issues with the Disco that I will post in a new thread.

That being said, looks like my drive shaft does not have the fittings. That will be the next project on my list.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Edit: Forgot to mention that i got the SAI system from the dealer and shipped to my house. Installed in about 15 mins. Piece of cake.
