1st POST--1999 Disco II camshaft positon sensor needs to be replaced. Checked byan OBD II. Does anyone know where the (Camshaft postion sensor) is located? What problems will it cause if any if I keep driving it the way it is? Where can I find one besides the dealer?

 

Cam or crank sensor, what code do you have, what is the truck doing wrong?

thanks for the reply mike...the code is P0340 camshaft position sensor A-Bank 1 circuit malfunction. And
P0102 MAF or VAF Circuit low input.
P1884 Manufacturer control transmission.
P0445 EVAP emission control system purge, Valve C short.
P0448 Emmission control system vent circuit short.



Ever since it was rebuilt, there has been a knock in the engine, and the engine turns off while idling. Tried increasing idle speed, but it does not work. I need to know where the camshaft position sensor is.

 

That is one messed up bunch of codes.
Wish I could tell you were the cam sensor is, I am thinking on or iside the front cover.
