Default 2002 Freelander

There seems to be fluid leaking inside the car (not consistently or in great amounts), mostly on the drivers side but noticed on the passenger side. I don't know how to check the transmission fluid level but all other levels seem to be within normal range. Of course the overflow for the radiator is a little low, but that's a never ending problem with this car. The transmission has been replaced once already. The fluid seems to be sticky when dry. I can't wait to get rid of this car! Thanks for any help you can give me.

There is no noticeable odor. It is a dark red color and, when dry, is sticky to the touch.
