Default 2003 disco vacuum lines-ses light

I recently had to do some work on my Rover. It started leaking at the throttle body where antifreeze heats it. It gasket failed and I was able to get a new one and replace it. While I made that repair I noticed a hard plastic line (vacuum i believe) that appeared broken. It is over by the brake booster and I think I followed it down to the front axle. If if connects to the engine for vacuum for some reason I can't seem to find the other half. I have looked through the RAVE cd and searched many forum threads. Our Disco is at about 63000 miles and I intend to do the 60,000 mile tune up over the winter.

I'm kind of excited because since we got ours over the summer, my in-laws have now purchased a 99 Disco with 70,000 miles because they like ours so much. It looks like I will be able to maintain booth now.

I should also add that soon after we bought ours the ses light came on and I did go have it scanned at an auto parts store, but I cant really remember what it said. I believe it was emissions and maybe something to do with a bank?

Anyway, he are a couple pictures of the area of the vacuum line. If I get this figured out I will try to tackle the ses light, unless that takes care of it.

Thanks for everyones posts, this is a great site.

Scott

That is a breather tube and is OK.
Go get the codes read again and get back to us. It is on for a reason and not to be neglected. Get us the exact 4 digit fault code numbers.

Thanks Mike,

I took it to the parts store today and they scanned the codes:

P0130 Bank 1 Sensor 2

P0172 System 2 lean bank 1

Those were the codes and that was their explanation.

Any help or advise is greatly appreciated.

Not sure how to close this link, but I have re-posted it under the disco section. It seems to get more traffic there.

Thanks,

Scott
