So my disco 2004... the diff shifter started slipping out of high while driving. Then a terrible grinding noise and boom the disco won’t drive. I put it in reverse or drive and it has terrible grinding noises and neither shaft spins. It doesn’t matter what position diff shifter is in. Is this the transfer case gone bad? Or could it possibly be something else ?
