2006 hse sc transmission molding and brake recall
Hi everyone,
We just took our Range Rover hse in for the brake recall. We figured to let them also fix the side lamp that just went out, but now it appears the molding trim around the honeycomb grill has rivets that are broken. Think they will replace this because they did the damage? It's an official Land Rover repair and dealership.
Transmission question, we took it back to Range Rover multiple times but they are unable to duplicate this issue.
The car revs like it can't get out of first or second gear unless you ease up on the gas then it will switch. It happens mainly on left or right turns very intermittent and a few times straight away same first or second. Please if anyone can give us tips in this I really appreciate it. The repair techs make me think I'm crazy but they are appearing to be very incompetent.
We also for some reason have extremely touchy brakes, if you just tap the pedal a little it jerks as if the pedal is slammed harder. This is from a coasting and low speeds. Is this normal for rovers? Our repair shop in merit island seem to figure this is all normal.
When I say incompetant I mean we had a slow leak in the tire but they refused to dip the tire until we requested this to be done to fix our slow slow leak. Losing faith in our Range Rover repair shop.
From the failing to fix our tire to leaving out the 4 bolts that keep the front under guard black bumper in place. We are in Florida and appreciate any tips if you know of a good Land Rover repair shop.

Transmission - could be a few things
1 - not enough oil in transmission ( not enough fluid pressure to open valves )
2 - clutches in the transmission drum worn ( causing slipping on 1st speed )
Tranny's rely on fluids to function if it does not have the right amount of fluid at all times , long term wear will occur, even if the oil was top up recently , the wear may have already happened over time ...
Brakes - the pins on brake callipers may have been stuck so its not releasing the pads totally off the rotor/s , or a piston/s may be seized , causing the same result,
if this is the case , the pads a already so close to the rotor/s , as soon as you hit the brake it makes immediate contact ,causing you to have no delay at all...
you can check this yourself , jack it up take the wheels off start the vehicle ( to allow vacuum booster to function ) leave it in park .. press the pedal while someone looks at the callipers you will see movement on it , its more important to see it moving back away from the rotors...

Hello,
Thank you so much man, this helps us so much. We go in to the Range Rover dealership with confidence they would help us. This is our 3rd time bringing in it with the same problems, so hopefully I can take all your advice and give it to them. I really appreciate this man.
