2007 Rover Hse Does this car have locking differentials?
I purchased this car to use in Moab. It does not have the option of locking rear end. I thought from reading before my purchase that the car had a center locking differential. Is this correct? If so does it lock up the front and rear during extreme use?
I love this car......just hoping I have not screwed up by not finding one with the locking rear end.
I come from the Jeep world. Decided to purchase a Rover because I have always thought they were so cool looking.
Can anyone help me with my questions?
Thanks

The locking center diff is nothing like you are used to coming from the heep world.
We need to know what exactly you bought, a LR3? Range Rover? LR2?
The locking center diff locks both propshafts together so they get equal power, meaning the engines power is sent equally to the front and rear diffs.
Add in the standard traction control and you do not need a locking rear or front diff.

Its a Rang Rover 2007 HSE 4.4. It is not the SC and its not the supercharged.
I am use to locking diff. Question. Does the traction control system cause both wheels to turn ie in the front or back if needed?
What is the advantage of the optional rear locking diff available on the HSE or standard on the SC.......Is it just a redundant option?
Thanks so much for all the feedback.

Can you tell me how the traction control works with my system that does not have rear locking diff? Will it lock up the front or rear as needed?
Thanks for your feedback. Just trying to wrap my head around this. I am going to Moab next week with this thing. Very excited!! Just stressed without lockers
Will be doing Poison spider and golden spike and rim trail. There are a few spots that I have always liked the added confidence of lockers. What do you think. Will I be ok

The traction control stops the spinning wheel(s) with the brakes and then the power is transferred to the wheel(s) with traction.
With a locker power is sent to both wheels no matter what, even if one is in the air, wasted energy because you are sending power to spin a wheel that can do nothing other than waste energy.
This is not a Jeep, this is the best 4x4 in the world hands down.
The only thing that would make it better is a diesel engine.

Nope they dont, they all all 100% stock, look at the tires even, all season street tires.
The second video is of a Land Rover outing sponsored by Land Rover, all stock dude, seriously.
You are to used to the crap you used to own, the crap that even though it is "trail rated" you still have to modify to go anywhere.
I could post video's all day showing why a Land Rover is better than a Jeep.
