Default 2008 lr3

Just purchased a 2008 LR3 SE. Very nice condition but I have the dreaded suspension fault. Under the steering column, the suspension module is not attached and I cannot figure out where it is supposed to be connected. There is also a plug that has a purple and black wire that is not connected.

I disconnected the battery and let the vehicle sit for a while then reconnected. I started up and pushed up on the left lever to raise the LR3. The cluster said NORMAL HEIGHT SELECTED. I heard a faint sound from the compressor, then after 5-8 seconds, the SUSPENSION FAULT warning came on.

Any clues?

Looks like the module just isn't installed correctly. Since you here the pump run for a second and turn off with a fault message, you should have the faults checked. Most likely you have a faulty suspension pump. However, start with the faults and go from there.

The purple plug may go to the lower trim light. The module should attach the body under the dash along the A pillar on the driver's side. This seems strange??? Like someone was in there trying to fix something and fail
