Hello, I hope somebody can help me. I have a little bit tired 300 tdi engine with 590.000 km in a Discovery. It’s my “workhorse vehicle” and most of the time I’m pulling heavy trailers. I’m having plans for rebuilding the engine. I have already bought a used crankshaft and connecting rods from a 2.8 International engine that I want to use in the 300 tdi engine. The parts look very good. I have to rebore the cylinders for fitting the larger 2.8 pistons. So I need 4 new pistons and a head gasket. Which other parts do I need for fitting the 2.8 crankshaft in the 300 tdi? Are the crankshaft and big end bearings different to the 300 tdi bearing? Where is the best place to order the new parts? MD engineering?
