got a land rover with the p1138 code, B1S2, after convertor, for running rich. dumb question is that o2 sensor on the drivers or passengers side of the vehicle?

As old and with as miles on it as you must have, replace both front 02's or you will have an imbalanced air/fuel ratio between the 2 banks.
Also, when buying 02's for your truck there are 2 different styles, the standard and the advanced emission style so you will need to buy the correct one based on your vin number.
