Help!
It takes 15 minutes to add 2 gallon of gas in my Rover. My mechanic removed the neck and found nothing that would interfere. He thinks its some kind of Evap lock? Anyone know about this.

There is a vent hose which runs parallel to the filler neck. Not uncommon for that to become clogged impeding air from evacuating whilst filling the tank.

Oh bro man I got the same exact problem in my Ford Expedition!!
I know what my issue is though. A small rock, very small, got stuck in the line mentioned above. As a result the atmosphere that escapes the fuel tank competes with the fuel being pumped in for space in the filler tube. Thus, any attempt to add fuel at regular pumping speed will equal a fuel spill at best, a full on gasoline shower at worst.

So.... I gotta find slow *** local pumps and pump by the cent. Or, fill 25-30 cents worth, count to ten, repeat....

I have yet to come up with a plan of attack. I know I could rig some kinda suction device but would be scared of running fuel vapor thru a shop vac. Big risk of a kaboom detonation IMHO and I don't feel like looking like Wiley Cotote after the dynamite plunger is punched!!

 

I have had a few cars with that problem, I found that sometimes you can change the angle of the filler nozzle and it works better. Try putting the pump handle in upside down, or turned to the side and see if it helps. Just a quick fix until you get the vent tube fixed up
