well i have a 98 disc lse starts then runs for five mins then shuts off. then wont start for 20 mins. so i plugged in my code reader gave me these codes. p1316 p1193 p0158 p1178 p1448. so i went out and bought new plugs and wires ,installed, new max air flow sensor installed, new air fliter installed. i have a new fuel pump replacement kit have'nt installed yet. i also have a new purge valve, cant find the location, help please. i also have new oxygen sensors but there the wrong size. would a bad 02 sensor make it shut completely down like that? now i've been reading alot about these discos on here. inetia switch something to do with shutting down fuel pump in a crash, how can i tell if i need a new
one ? and can i bypass it some how? im thinking its the relay ywb 10041c. help please. what do i do next? p.s. just hit 160k but the car is in great shape all highway miles not a off roader. and does this disco have aels? i think it does because the p1448 states evaporative loss control system- major leak. but its not leaking anything.

 

You can bypass the inertia switch with a jumper wire across the plug where the wires are.

When it shuts down, do you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail? Find the schrader valve on the rail and see if there is pressure when it stops running.

Need to narrow down if the problem is electrical or fuel.

See if you have spark when it quits too, might need an extra person to help with that one...
