Default ABS Light wont go away any knowledge helps

Hey everyone So here is the situation, I own a 97 disco that i purchased about a month ago she only has 90,000 original on the odo i figured what a steal. She has been running great and driving fine until my brake light bulbs burnt out so I replaced those and they worked fine, however not 15 minuets later after driving a couple blocks I put the disco in park and she locked in park. So I replaced the brake light switch and the brake lights work perfectly fine as well as the brakes, but now the ABS light is on and wont go away. I have read that you can use the jumper wire method to clear the code (which i would rather not do) or go to a dealer and pay an arm and a leg, or should the light have turned off if the error was fixed? I have been told by one person the light should clear it self but I have read multiple sources that say you have to have the light code cleared or you can do it your self with a jumper wire.

Yes to your entire statement, from my experience. The ABS light turns off by itself if all the problems are fixed. You'll need to jump the wires to get the trouble codes and clear to see if they persist.

Default Well Ill be it worked

Well I usually do not like to run jumper wires especially on open terminals however this worked extremely well and I saved my self about $175 bucks.

i have a 97 d1 that abs light came on, i went to the connector plug under hood [one on each side] disconnected added some lithium grease and reconnected, then i went to each wheel and made sure the pin was seated properly on each wheel and light went out after a few rotations of wheels.my connectors disintegrated when i started to unplug so i ended up just making my own connection, good luck
