Another disco window problem

Hey guys, I need some help.
So I today I was driving and my window went down no problem, then it wouldn't roll up at all. I could hear the motor still running (strong sounding) but the window didn't move. So I took the door panel off to see what was going on, but couldn't see much with the little freaking holes they have. I held the button while "helping" the window go up and still nothing. So I am thinking that the motor is no longer attached to the regulator. So I pushed the window to the top and it stayed.
I was searching for this problem and found a thread where the guy said his motor went too far and pushed the regulator past the teeth. I am going to check this out tomorrow in the daylight, but I am also hoping someone can help me out.
Thanks,
Kurt

If these are the older style sissor style with teeth than that is possible if one of the plastic end pieces/bushings fell off. Help it back on to the motor and it should work but it will happen again if you auto all the way down. Otherwise if its cable and track system on bmws they pop out or break the clip and pop out.
Good luck ask questions,
