Default Any 2005 Range Rover Owners...

I am brand new to the world of Land Rovers and would love to hear any good or bad experiences with the 2005 Range Rover because all of a sudden I am very nervous about the dependability factor. Do I have anything to worry about?

Stay ontop of maintenance, use premium gas and join RANGEROVERS.NET HOME

Default Thanks Spike

Thanks for the input Spike - I will make sure to stay on maintenance. If anyone else has any useful feedback, I would appreciate it. The vehicle feels and drive's fantastic. I only hope it stays issue free. The dealer I bought it from (to close the deal I guess) put on 22" wheels and tires. The thing looks awesome but I don't think he took this into account when I lower the body all the way. If I forget to raise it to standard position, the tire hits and rubs the fender. Scared the crap out of me the first time I figured this out. Also, the gigantic passenger side cup holder will not close. I think it took me a while to even know what it was. I also need to find the 2005 "navigation disc" to get any navigation. Oh yeah... does anyone know what I need to connect the factory audio system to my iPhone? I got the phone working but nothing else... no music. Thanks to all!

Spike can elaborate on this but I do believe the newer production Range Rovers (2003 and newer) are actually some of the most reliable compared to the predecessor P38 Range Rover models. Have not heard of any engine problems. Air suspension still not the highest quality so make sure you keep an eye on the suspension air bags, check for cracks or worn spots. Replacement parts for the air suspension system ten to be pricey buy I believe Arnott makes some affordable replacements parts. Ive heard afew stories about electrical problems and the batteries being to small, so just keep an eye on your batter. Get it tested (Autozone does a battery and Alternator check for free) and when the battery starts getting to end of its life, DONT WAIT TO REPLACE IT! Otherwise do as Spike advised, use premium gasoline, use premium oil and change oil as recommended by forum members.

Good luck and welsome to the Land Rover community.
