Default Bags vs Springs

I have a 2001 Disco with the air suspension. It has been a little unreliable in the winter (cold) months and often they would not inflate at all. I was thinking about switching to coils. I haven't checked out what exactly is wrong with the air suspension, and I don't want to get into replacing a bunch of things until it corrects (that can get a bit pricey) I am looking for some feedback as far as what people have done in the past. Would you recommend keeping the air bags or would I be better off switching to coils now and save myself any future headaches.

Switch to coils and be done with it.
When the SLS gets old it gets very troublesome.
You will need to unplug the air compressor, remove the height sensors and then have the ECU re-programmed by a dealer.
If you dont then the SLS warning light will come on, if you can live with that fine, if not only the dealer can turn the light off.

Why not find out what is wrong with it and fix it, you'll never have as good a ride after replace the bags and going to coils, plus you will also have to replace the front springs and shocks also or the truck will sit *** high without.
Send me your number and I can walk you thru what to do.

I don't really have the money to go problem-hunting so, I figured I would just replace the bags with springs to avoid any headaches in the future.

Some days I come out and the rear suspension is all the way down. Sometimes, if I let it warm up before I drive, the suspension raises, sometimes, no matter how long I let it sit, nothing happens. I don't know the rhyme or reason. There are no warning lights or anything. If you have any ideas of where I should start looking for problems, I would greatly appreciate it. I would be more than happy to stay with the bags if it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to fix. I'll send you my ph#

My only concern is that you think springs will be the cheaper way to go and done right, they are the more expensive way.
You cn't just add s conversion kit to the rear, you also need new shocks cause your's are shot and once you install new coils in the rear, the front will be pretty low in comparison to the rear so you have to replace them for a balanced ride.

Air suspension on my 01 too!
I also think there is even some dealer programming involved with a coil conversion.
Is this true? What would be the bottom line for a conversion from air to coil if a guy wanted it done? $'s?

I have a complete set of 4 shocks (labeled) and 4 springs for your truck. Let me know if you may be interested.
