Default BorgWarner Turbo vs OEM

My extended warranty is offering a BorgWarner Turbo, should I do it or pay 1K extra for the OEM? 2015 LR Discovery Sport.
I have 95k miles on my 2015 Discovery and the turbo started whistling. I brought it in and the extended warranty is offering to provide a BorgWarner Turbo, or it will cost 1k additional to get the OEM. Do you have an opinion and or are there any additional questions I should be asking? Thank you!

IIRC Borg Warner is the OE manufacturer for LR turbos.
Unless you have another brand, compare the blue tag and LR logo on the case of your turbo... my guess is it's a BW.

The Warranty Co. might be offering you a REManufactured B W turbo.

You can see more info here.... also click the PRODUCT SEARCH on the left to get the specific LR Part numbers.

I confirmed w/ the dealer that they are offering a new BorgWarner. The broken Turbo was the original factory turbo. Since BW is teh OE manufacturer for LR turbros, I guess I should just go with with Borg and not pay an extra thousand... ?

I would never spend an extra grand for the same part just because it comes in a White/Green Land Rover box.
